A 17-year old woman from Dagestan was reportedly one of the Moscow subway bombers, according to the New York Times. "She is a striking examle of the phenomenon of the so-called Black Widows -- young women from the Caucasus who are deployed as human bombs. . . often after their husbands are killed by security forces." Men are not the only threats to order in Russia, as the Kremlin attempts to stamp out the armed underground, and the harsher measures create another wave in the ongoing cycle of violence and revenge.
